This course aims at providing the basic concepts of cultural anthropology in order to recognize and investigate cultural process and urban and rural contexts, through an array of case-studies analyses enlightening their cultural construction. The main knowledge acquired will focus on: analytical tools to understand the complexity of urban processes from an anthropological point of view; the analysis of specific and different urban contexts; the symbolic level of local belonging; the interpretations and self-representations of citizenships; cultural landscapes and the forms of their heritage
A fieldwork research in Prato City is planned, within the project "Our Campus our City" In collaboration with Monash Univ. and New Haven Univ.
